OP Social hopes to add to the growing food scene in the Southtowns. Power outlets under the bar for phone charging are another nice small detail added in the bar. The atmosphere is modern and casual with reclaimed wood adorning the walls, LED lights underneath the concrete bars and a small lounge area next to the bar. Cocktails will include a “perfect” margarita and the Strawberry Social featuring muddled strawberries, vanilla vodka, apple cider and heavy cream. There will be a small craft cocktail menu in addition to a relatively large wine list that features wines by the glass and bottle. The former dining room now features a large bar, several large flat screen televisions and twenty taps that will feature a rotating selection of craft beer from Buffalo and beyond. The sandwich selection include the OP Burger, a bánh mì and a Turducken sandwich. Entrée selections feature a soba noodle bowl, buttermilk fried chicken, strip steak and braised duck leg with mushroom, cippoline onions, new potatoes, spinach and tomato. Pizza options will include roasted beef brisket, shellfish with lobster and crab, pepperoni and charred asparagus with prosciutto, goat cheese, black mission figs and dressed baby arugula. Several small plates will be available including pecan crusted goat cheese and hot pepper dip finished in the brick oven. The menu at OP Social will have a lot of variety to offer. Diners seated at the food bar will be able to watch the action both in the brick oven and its prep area, as well as the full kitchen behind it. A signature ingredient – slowed cooked beef brisket – will also be offered in a variety of forms from sandwich to pizza. The oven will be used for a variety of pizza, as well as some entrees and small plates, including herb-crusted salmon and quesadillas. The former barroom has been transformed into a space that features a food bar that sits in front of the newly installed brick oven. The restaurant was closed for several months as the extensive renovations took place. To give his customers more of what they wanted, the restaurant was renovated and rebranded as OP Social Tap & Grille. At the end of that run, co-owner, David Hart, noticed a changing trend in his restaurant – his patrons preferred to eat, drink and socialize in the barroom instead of the larger dining room. Located in Downtown Wichita at the Garvey Center, Lee Media Group is proud to support any other local business we can.David’s Grille enjoyed a successful eleven year run in the Village of Orchard Park. “Experience the flow” and make it a stop on your own local tour! A cool atmosphere, fun logo (we all took turns guessing what it is), and quick mobile ordering/checkout service certainly lives up to its name and got us socializing (for a few hours longer than expected). Cheers to that!Īs a digital marketing firm, we appreciate Social Tap Drinkery‘s branding that perfectly balances user-friendly technology and communication. Last, but certainly not least… BEER CANS TO GO! Zach told us in a few weeks Social Tap will offer 19.2 ounce cans that can be taken to go for any beer on tap (one of the few places in Wichita to offer this).Zach opened the garage doors for us once it cooled down and we moved outside to enjoy our margarita, rum cocktail, & beers outside at their pond-side patio that seats around 70. The walls and TV display their interesting, super cool logo. “I love the openness of it in here,” we heard one customer say. We tried the Chicken Bacon Pesto torpedo sandwich and So-Pep pizza (the hot honey is amazing)! Orders from Sungrano next door are delivered at Social Tap. Despite mobile orders for quick service, Social Tap focuses on fewer screens and more socializing. Orders are taken online through a mobile ordering & payment system.Of their 52 taps offered, 38-40 are rotating beers in addition to wine, seltzers, cocktails, coffee, and root beer. What’s different about Social Tap? “We have the biggest tap variety in Wichita,” Zach said. Old River Tap & Social is a place like no other on Clevelands Westside Whether you come for the great pub food, craft beer, wine, or for the fun activities.
